Christmas to meIs more than a trinket or pleasure
It is more about friends
Those are our real treasure
The trinkets break
Or get pushed aside
True friends are there
When we hurt or are torn up inside
I think of the homeless
Living on the street
With no money or shelter
Or any food to eat
To them a pleasure
Is just a basic need
A warm blanket or cover
Or food for their kids to eat
The soldier in the foxhole
Does he need a new toy?
I bet he would gladly
Spend Christmas with his little boy
Some times the material
Overshadows what is real
The true Christmas gifts will last
And are a much better deal
I think that if we want
To have true Christmas pleasure
Then we need to consider those in need
As this is the real Christmas treasure.
