Top team in Primary and Secondary categories win Grand Prize of a trip to Hong Kong Disneyland!

Kuala Lumpur, 12 September 2011: Two dance teams were revealed as the winners of Disney Channel’s “My School Rocks!” 2011 Interschool Dance Competition, winning themselves a trip to Hong Kong Disneyland, a trophy and certificate!

Team Leeleesm from Sekolah Kebangsaan Puncak Alam in Kuala Lumpur (pictured left) danced their way to the top of the Primary Category while Team K-Elite of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bahang in Sabah (pictured below) was the top team in the Secondary Category!

“We learnt a lot after participating in ‘My School Rocks!’ last year and it helped us become more confident to perform on stage. It’s such a happy surprise that we won this year and to know that all our hard work and practices paid off!” said Team Leeleesm from SK Puncak Alam.

“It’s so exciting to be announced as one of the winning teams of ‘My School Rocks’ 2011! We believe our original and creative dance moves and entertaining performance wowed the judges and helped us clinch the winning spot! We never gave up and practised really hard for this. Here we come, Hong Kong Disneyland!” said Team K-Elite from SMK Bahang.

This fourth year of My School Rocks! was met with overwhelming response from primary and secondary students across Malaysia, who showcased their talents in various forms of dance, complete with their own costumes and choreography.

The winning teams were selected from a shortlisted group of 10 state winners whose audition dances were posted online for public voting, accounting for 50% of their score. The remaining 50% were determined by a panel of judges who awarded points based on choreography; showmanship; props and costumes; teamwork and sportsmanship; and dance concept.
