OLÉ! TO KFC’S NEW TORTILLA FUSION RECIPE

KFC Malaysia has launched its exciting new KFC Olé Pocketful, its latest recipe in its popular series of unique fusion dishes that combine KFC with exotic breads.
 
The new product is tender Zinger fillet, diced tomatoes, crunchy corn chips, juicy pineapples and cheese, all topped with zesty Mexicano sauce, placed in a tortilla, wrapped and lightly toasted.

“The result is a unique and an entirely new eating experience,” said Encik Mohammad bin Alwi, Director of Restaurant Operations, KFC Holdings (Malaysia) Bhd, who officiated its launch in Kuala Lumpur today.
 
“With every bite you enjoy an explosion of various tastes and flavours. That’s why its tagline says ‘It’s a Celebration of Flavours’.”
 
The creative twist given to the tortilla, turning it into a wrap, makes KFC Olé Pocketful convenient to hold and enjoy without messing up the fingers, so it is ideal for casual dining or to enjoy on the go.
 
“Teens and young adults lead busy lifestyles these days. So if they can’t sit down to enjoy a leisurely meal at our restaurants, they can now just quickly drop by, pick up a KFC Olé Pocketful and move on and enjoy it along the way.
 
“It is delicious, nutritious, neat, convenient, cool and fun. They can enjoy it anytime, anywhere,” he said.
 
KFC Olé Pocketful is now available at all KFC restaurants in Malaysia for a limited period of two months only starting 13 June 2011.
 
The ala carte price is RM6.80 and there is also a special combo meal that includes one KFC Olé Pocketful, one regular potato wedges and one regular 7UP for RM9.45.
 
KFC is also having on sale a zippy new Mini Cooper toy car for RM8.00 as a promotional item with KFC Olé Pocketful. The Mini Cooper cars are also sold at an ADD ON price of RM5.50 with every purchase of the KFC Ole Pocketful.
 
This is an important product launch for KFC because it coincides with the start of the new semester for college and university students who are the primary target for this product.
 
KFC is spending more than RM2 million on advertising and promotion for KFC Olé Pocketful, including TV, radio and press advertising, online media, outdoor and point-of-sale materials.
 
It expects the new product to contribute about 5% of its system wide sales mix during the promotion period.
 
KFC is the leading Western quick service restaurant chain in the country with more than 520 outlets.
 
It serves a wide selection of value-for-money combination meals built around its Original and Hot & Spicy recipes, side orders, salads, sandwiches and burgers.
