Kuala Lumpur, 5th May 2011 – Brewing a fresh cup of coffee that will appease the fickle palettes of coffee connoisseurs is no easy feat. Chilla Cup understands this and just four months since its inception at Mont Kiara Solaris, the coffee house has ensured that inhaling that first aromatic whiff has rarely been more discreetly satisfying.

Emceed by the multi-faceted Xavier Mah, more than 80 guests and members of the media packed into Chilla Cup at Subang Avenue for this festive occasion. Chilla Cup partner, Shaik Haniff, says that their uncompromising approach towards their core offerings is the reason they have been able to expand to their third outlet in just a short one year span.

“There is no trade secret,” states Shaik “The differentiation lies in restocking of our premium Arabica coffee beans often – at three month intervals – even as they are flown in from Asia, Africa and South America. We also use the time honoured artisan method of roasting small quantities (15kg) of beans at a go.  These are strengths that we leverage on even as we expand to Quill 7 Sentral and Subang Avenue and it has served us well.”

The main treat would soon follow with a showcase by celebrity models Cassandra Patrick, Stefanie Chua and Eliana. Dressed to dazzle, the trio strutted out with the Chilla Cup signature mainstays of freshly brewed strong black coffee, delectable lattes, foamy cappuccinos, smoothies, pretzels, thick toasts and tortillas.

“As we can see, Chilla Cup also dishes up an array of pastries that sooths the odd craving and occasional sweet tooth, while providing substantial fare for busy executives on the go,” adds Shaik. “There are sumptuous spreads of gourmet sandwiches, cakes and a varied selection of local and international dishes such prawn spaghetti in dill sauce, juicy beef burgers, Caesar salads and mushroom soup for a gastronomic adventure that will peppers social gatherings, makes for memorable dates and provide a (temporary) refuge from the insanity of the workday.”

“We have also factored in the affordability component for satisfaction that hopefully extends way beyond the arrival of the bill,” he jokes.

The atmosphere was further enlivened by the performance of magician Andrew Lee who conjured a variety of life birds out of thin air and displayed his dexterity with rope tricks that he eventually transformed into Chilla Cup’s signature pretzels. And when celebrities Dynas Mokhtar, Juliana Evans, Yise Loo, Nadia Heng, Megan Tan and Peace Teo Yi Poi went on stage for a group photo-op with Shaik and Anna Chong, Cassandra, Stefanie and Eliana, the crowd clamoured for a glimpse.

It was definitely a roaring start for the hip café’s latest outlet as guests mingled and sampled Chilla Cup’s exciting fare on this sunny Thursday afternoon.

About Chilla Cup

The complexities of brewing a fresh cup of coffee that will appease the fickle palettes notwithstanding, we believe simplicity has been our leverage since our inception at Mont’ Kiara Solaris in January 2011. We do not compromised with our core product of the finest roasted Arabica coffee beans imported from Asia, Africa and South America. This has been our strength and it has served us well even as we expand to Quill 7 Sentral and Subang Avenue in a short one-year span. As you chill over a cup of aromatic latte or a foamy cappuccino, be sure to indulge with Chilla Cup’s array of pastries that sooths the odd craving and the occasional sweet tooth. Our selection of pastries also provides substantial fare that we believe will ensure satisfaction way beyond the arrival of the bill.
