Nutrition Awareness amongst School Children

Leading milk brand Fernleaf has launched the Fernleaf Health Awareness School Programme in response to the initiative by the Ministry of Health (MOH) to reduce the growing obesity rate amongst school children.

With the support of the Ministry of Education (MOE), MOH and Fernleaf have kicked start the first phase of the programme in 31 primary schools around the Klang Valley, aiming to reach out to another 119 schools come February 2012 to target a total of 180,000 school children. The programme involves measuring the students' BMI (Body Mass Index) and educating them on the importance of an active lifestyle and good nutrition, using the Malaysian food guide pyramid.
